Your Journey, Your Voice….

Street scene with a bookstore sign for books, records, posters, budget video library, King Street Grocer sign, and people walking on the sidewalk. Posters on the ceiling and an Australia Post mailbox are visible.

Life Therapy, led by Dr. Xi Liu (they/them), is a private Psychology practice founded on the values of equity and compassion. Xi is dedicated to creating a welcoming environment where clients’ unique identities—including race, culture, gender, sexuality, neurodivergence, religion, class, disability, diverse bodies and more—are honored and deeply respected.

Recognizing that challenges are shaped by social, cultural, and historical contexts, Xi approaches psychotherapy as a collaborative journey. This process is rooted in empowerment, healing, and breaking the stigma around seeking support.

The practice is physically located in Newtown (Eora), Sydney, Australia. Xi specializes in trauma, grief, relationships, mood disorders, anxiety, cultural and racial identity, and gender affirmation. Xi is deeply passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodivergent people (including ADHDers and Autistic individuals), People of Colour, and others from underrepresented communities.

Community

“The greatest damage done by neglect, trauma or emotional loss is not the immediate pain they inflict but the long-term distortions they induce in the way a developing child will continue to interpret the world and her situation in it.”
